Gunshots

April 29, 2010

Came up with the idea for doing a hook-trick mid suicide last night. I then spent some time coming up with some basic variations to show the concept. I decided to call them gunshots because when practicing them without a yoyo it always looks like I’m making a “gun” out of my hand.

Vertical Sunrise

March 26, 2010

This video was put together to show a new vertical trick. It’s pretty simple, but I think it looks great. Hope you enjoy!

Stop and Go Go Go

March 11, 2010

This is a fun combo with a newish stop-and-go regen I’ve been playing around with.

A lot of the elements in here are very easy to see where I stole them from, but the big three are Paul Han, Spencer Berry, and Jensen Kimmitt

Nachfolge

March 2, 2010

New frontstyle trick I made up last night. Shoulda made it up earlier so I could’ve put it in the frontstyle video… oh well.

This trick has two very distinct Sebastian Brock elements so it’s mostly inspired by him. The backwards/inverse tunnel exit is a nod to both Mark Allen and Miguel Correa.

Frontstyle 2010

February 28, 2010

[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/9760866[/vimeo]

I made this video to showcase some of my favorite fronstyle tricks. Some are rather old tricks from ’04-’06 (Søren/Your Phone is Vibrating), but most are from within the last year or two. Also, some tricks are done somewhat to the side, but they’re all frontstyle tricks with frontspin throws.

Two Birds on a Wire

February 28, 2010

This trick was either created late late 2009 or early 2010, but I’ve not been able to hit it on camera without flinching/smoothly up until a couple of days ago. Based off of the concept of throwback regens and 5A Freegens.

Juggling

February 28, 2010

[vimeo]http://www.vimeo.com/8911380[/vimeo]

This trick was developed after playing with some ideas from Jason Lee, (Metronome) and Kota Watanabe, (Thumb mount tricks) and Abe Ziaimehr (vertical movement) and mixing ’em all together.

Bend and Fold

December 18, 2009

[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/8267745[/vimeo]

Bend and Fold was pretty significant for me on a personal level. It was the first video that I ever put out where I started to feel like I was showcasing my “own style” and not a mishmash of my versions of other styles of 1A trickery. It was also the first video to show how to “bend” a mount. And while I was one of the few people who popularized folding gates, (Along with Drew Tetz, Sonny Patrick, Simon Welch, and a few others) there aren’t any in this video. The rest of the name is just a coincidence. Go figure!

Adam Brewster’s Eleven

December 18, 2009

[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/2733256[/vimeo]

This video was about 8 months in the making. After the WYYC in 2007 I decided to do a series of 12 tricks each named after the location of the strongest weapon/summon in the 12 different Final Fantasy Games (except I substituted FFXI for FFT – hence the trick Deep Dungeon) the 12th trick wasn’t finished in time but was later released in the video, “The Only Thing Worth Saying” as Kefka’s Tower. It was also shot in the extremely creepy house over the course of a few visits over a few weeks and gave Brandon and I the heebie jeebies like none other haha. Anyhow, this is the final edit.

The Only Thing Worth Saying

December 18, 2009

[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/1525245[/vimeo]

This was the last video I made before I moved away from Nashville, to Des Moines. It had a lot of unfinished/unexplored ideas that I’ve yet to do anything with and the trick Shadowgraphs which I guess a lot of people like. It’s also the only video where I have a stunt double for my daring jump scene…..
